Recycling

As per national legislation, we recycle paper/cardboard, plastic bottles, food waste, batteries, and glass as well as light bulbs, paint cans and oil. Our bathroom amenities are produced in recyclable aluminium tubes to avoid the use of single-use plastics. Recycle bins are present in all guest bedrooms and throughout all back-of-house offices. We strive to purchase restaurant items that are in glass or recyclable containers to avoid the use of single-use plastics wherever we can.

Food and Beverage

All of our food and beverage outlets use locally-sourced and organic produce wherever possible. We strive to use fair-trade suppliers and ecolabelled suppliers as much as we can. We value our local community and supporting local businesses, so we aim to work with London suppliers to reduce our carbon emissions in food travel. Please see below a list of our current local suppliers. Square Root, Camden Hells, Portobello Pilsner, Toast Series (a non-profit company producing beer from leftover bread/toast to fight against food waste), Belu water throughout the hotel (a non-profit supporting water aid charity), many house brands for spirits from local distilleries (East London Liquor Company, Bimber, Beefeater & Whitley Neill), House wine range is English (Chapel Down, London Cru, Balfour), and London tea brand, The Tea Makers of London (recyclable sachets). For food, we use The Menu Partners suppliers, with a variety of eco-friendly or fair-trade food: Meat – IMS Smith Fields (organic), Fish – Sea Food Holdings (MSC), Fruit – Covent Garden Market, Veg – Covent Garden Market, Bread – Bread Factory London. We do not buy products derived from threatened or protected species. We have plant-based options available on our menus.
