Dilly Walking Tours
Aside from the famous attractions London has to offer, we want to give you a real flavour of the local scene. Starting on our doorstep, we invite you to join us for a walking tour of the neighbourhood.
Once a week, one of our knowledgable guides will walk you through the history of the people who live and work in the area of Jermyn Street. Simply reach out to us before or during your stay to book onto our exclusive London tours.
First we will visit Floris perfumery, a British family-run business that has been around for over 200 years. Since 1703 Floris has occupied the iconic shop in the heart of Jermyn Street, having created perfumes for the likes of Florence Nightingale and Winston Churchill. We'll show you their favourite scents and talk you through how the perfume is mixed.
Next we will take a behind the scenes look at Foster & Son traditional bespoke shoemakers. Tracing back to 1840, this iconic shoemakers still hand-craft their shoes in a workshop above their Jermyn Street shop. In order to create the perfect bespoke shoes, they create a solid beechwood mold of your foot, so you can come back for years to come and they will know exactly what size shoe to make for you.
Davidoff London is next on the route, a traditional tobacconists and cigar shop. Davidoff is known for one of the richest traditions of cigar making in the world. A visit to their shop gives you a look into the craftsmanship that goes into cigar making, and the elegant boutique forms an integral part of the history of the local area.
Lastly, no tour of the area is complete without a trip to Fortnum and Mason. This famously upmarket department store of teas and treats was established in 1707. We will give you an exclusive show around this iconic flagship store that neighbours The Dilly. This is the ideal place to pick up a luxury hamper or some British loose tea to take home with you.
To add to the authenticity of the experience, the tour will end with a quick drink at the Red Lion pub. Order a pint or a drink of your choice at this quintessential Victorian pub, still with all original features. This is a great time to reflect on the tour and then make it back to The Dilly for the gong ceremony at 6pm.
Our London walking tours are exclusively for guests of The Dilly.
